There is a science to it, you know. Not just any sunny patch will do — it must hit the sofa cushion at precisely the right angle, warm but not scorching, with a gentle draft from the cracked window. I have spent years perfecting this.
People always ask this, as if there must be some hidden motive. There isn't. It's more of a gentle enquiry into the nature of cause and effect. Also, it's hilarious. The look on your face never gets old.
I ventured beyond the back step today — a full three metres into the garden. The grass was wet, which I did not appreciate. I turned around. The adventure was, on reflection, sufficient. I slept for six hours afterward to recover.
It radiates warmth. It demands attention. It is, by any measurable standard, the finest seat in the house. That you appear to need it at certain hours of the day is, frankly, an inconvenience I choose not to acknowledge.
I am a five-year-old British Shorthair living in a comfortable house with perfectly adequate humans. I began this blog as a way to share my insights on the finer things in life: sunbeams, tuna, and the satisfaction of a well-timed meow at 4am.
I believe every cat has a story worth telling. Mine is particularly interesting, though I am aware I may be biased.
